| I will overcome! |
2. Keep a food journal and record what I eat each day. Why do I eat when I am not hungry.
3. Do not eat in front of the TV
4. If I am hungry realize that I most probably thirsty instead. Drink water first.
5. Learn to only eat at the dining room table with plate, fork & knife. Break my habit of grabbing something to eat.
6. When eating at the table focus on only eating or talking with family. No reading or watching TV.
7. Move any tempting foods out of sight, Move healthier stuff to my eyesight.
8. Do not treat my body like a garbage can, eat only until full. Throw the rest in the garbage.
9. Exercise
10. Approach dinner as a ritual, not as a task to be completed. Plan in advance.
11. Only put the food you think you will eat on my plate. Put the rest away to elevate wanting more.
12. Eat my food slowly, without distractions, and with a feeling of gratitude. Give my brain a chance to know it is full.
13. If I am hungry for a snack, walk away for 7 minutes and do something else (except watching TV). If I am still hungry then I can have the snack at the table.
14. Strive to eat food in as close to it’s natural state as possible - avoid at all cost processed foods that come in a box, bag, wrapper or tray.
The next part of the book talks about exercise. I am so excited to get into that and see how it measures us with the animal kingdom. All of the above things he related to our animal friends and how they do it. I was just excited and thought you might be interested. I will keep you updated on my progress. I would like to journal for sure on what I eat each day. What kind of forum could I do that in that I could share with you? I don't want to do it on the blog because we will someday print this into a book.
I love you so much and am thankful you are always there for me. Let's keep on blogging, it is fun and I have been lax for sure.
I like this approach and need to get serious too. Transitions are hard for me and that is exactly where I am right now, so I eat out of boredome and uncertainty. I just have nervous energy and it usually takes me to the kitchen for a handful of this or that, but it is all day long. I really need to get back to working out or doing something more than walking with the dogs, my mind is willing but my body is weak. Let's just email back and forth. It will help me as well. Love you!
