Ripple Effect
It is really something to think of the power of water. We use it to move industry, nature, and it has to power to make human bodies to survive. The power of the might river can move giant vessels on to their destinations, it can power grand cities, and can also destroy those same things. The power is in the ripples...much like our lives. Each act we do has a ripple effect for better or for worse. In finding the perfect act to make the perfect ripple is where the magic lies. We can choose to make a big ripple or a small one, it really doesn't matter, what does matter is that we ripple. So we choose carefully the perfect round stone and then we let it rip. It glides effortlessly over the smooth water, before finding it's entrance. Then it slips quitely under the sheen surface of the water. To be forgotten? No, because the ripples are there to testify that the stone once was. Putting that in perspective is that we sometimes skip along in our lives, doing what we can to make a difference. Sometimes we see the effect we have and sometimes we don't. The effect is there none the less. The things we do each day to make a difference ripple out, they are paid forward, and people remember them. Even though we don't get instant or sometime no recognition at all, the ripples are there. We clean, cook, do yard and ranch work and it seems to go unnoticed, but it isn't. Our spouses are quiet men, men of little words. Yet I am very sure they know all that we do for them, all that we do to keep everything afloat...the feel our ripples on a daily basis, they just don't know quite how to put it into words because we are so awesome. We know what we do, we try to make a difference, and God knows, that is all that really matters. The mighty river flows on and on, without anyone to say, thank you for the strength and power you posses, thank you for providing life giving water, for powering my home, for brining life to the desert we call home. It just flows on doing what it is here to do. Majesty in motion.

And then the water is silent. Still and glowing under the warmth of the sun. Water fowl flock to the quiet waters to find solace, to find shelter, to find peace. The ripples are the same, ever flowing outward in there journey. The water still powerful takes a moment to be silent, to give comfort and peace. Our lives are the same. There are times when we need to be quiet. To listen to the soft promptings of the Lord. Times when we just feel, think, and ponder on all that we have. Then comes the power of renewal. The power to find in ourselves the joy of life. May this day be filled with many ripples, May you feel the love that I have for you across the miles. The ripples you have made in my life are immeasureable, it would be like skipping a stone on the ocean and the ripples going on forever. You have lifted me higher than I deserve and given me wings to fly. I felt like I was in the cockpit with you at your last posting. I felt the peace and happiness you were experiencing. The ripple effect of what you enjoyed came clear to Utah and I felt a part of it. Life is what we make of it. I am going to the bookstore on Saturday to purchase a nice journal. Why? Because I am going to keep it on the nightstand to write down the miracles of each day. I want to do this everyday for the coming year, to keep me focused on the good things in my life, the ripples that come my way, and the goodness of all the Lord blesses me with. Thanks for this great blog where we can share thoughts and ideas that bless each of our lives. It will be a great treasure to print it out in a year to read over and over again. You are my most treasured blessing, have a wonderful day filled with many miracles and ripples.
